Is AntiVir Personal Edt free of charges and with free updates as long as I use the program?

What are the good & bad wit AntiVir?

Here's a comparision at a german forum:

Seems a pretty good av.
But main complaints from users are the updates. Very large and slow.

Also potential problem as it identifies certain Panda.dlls as a trojan.

Hi snowman

You're right.....found W95/Bumble on my Panda.
What do you suggest I should do?
Uninstall AntiVir or Panda? Wich of them do you belive I should trust in most?

I just installed the anti-vir program and every time we log on a gray button comes up that says "missing shortcut
Windows is searching for downloadplus.viro
There's a flashlight going back & forth and 2 buttons-browse and cancel. It says if I want to find the file myself to click the browse button. When I did a box came up with 3 items in it and the downloadplus.viroo was listed after an aol icon so I clicked onit and clicked the "open file" button. Did I do right? Since I downloaded the program, my pc has been making a weird beep noise when we log off.
I'm new to the internet and this has scared me. Can someone help please?
